Community Health Worker Training
This national CHW training provides an overview of the roles and responsibilities of a Community Health Worker consistent with the current, standards of the national CHW Core Competency Project (C3). The course includes a study of six major competency areas -health care, community resources, communication skills, individual & community advocacy, health education, and basic CHW skills and responsibilities.

CONNECTION IS THE SOLUTION
, Unite WI will gather the city’s top community leaders on the SW corner of 2nd and Wells behind the Bradley Symphony Center at 6:15pm to introduce a group of community First Responders who will assist Milwaukeeans with emergencies like hunger, homelessness, mental health crisis and unemployment.
Unite WI will announce an expansion of the team of first responders, or Community Health Workers (CHW) to recruit and train nearly 200 new members. This team will connect people in need with real-life resources that help families meet basic needs, assist with medical health issues and connect survivors of violence to mental health services. The overall goal is to address the root causes of violence and help individuals with physical and mental health emergencies. After the additional workers are trained, Milwaukee will have access to 700 Community Health Workers in the next three years.
